Texas Supervision Symposium

Texas Supervision Symposium Graphic

Save the Date!

Friday June 27th, 2025  9:30am-4:30pm

The symposium is open to anyone involved in supervision or formation of trainees at a university or college counseling center in Texas. This includes all licensed mental health professionals, as well as doctoral interns or other trainees who supervise.  The TSS offers 5 hours of continuing education credit for licensed mental health providers.

Theme: Embracing the Tensions

As trainers, we often hold many tensions.  Whether dealing with political events that affect us and our trainees, forging connections across all kinds of differences, or navigating differing opinions of trainee performance, the strains are real.  How can we embrace these tensions and work towards healthier relationships, trainees, staff, and trainers?

2025 Keynote: Marie Moerkbak, Ph.D

Dr. Marie Moerkbak

Associate Director; Director of Intern Training
Texas Tech University

Keynote: "What’s in my head? Supervisor emotional self-reflection during tension"

Location: Baylor University

Texas Sports Hall of Fame
1108 S. University Parks Dr.
Waco, Texas 76706

Registration and Cost:

Before May 16th: $50 per person

May 17th to June 15th: $60 per person

There is a change to registration this year.  We have been informed that the TSS is now required to collect sales tax on registration fees.  We know the vast majority of you all are exempt from sales tax in your university role, and we have to collect verification of this.
