Texas Supervision Symposium
Friday, June 23rd, 2023
Co-hosted by Baylor and Texas A&M
It was wonderful to see so many of you and share the day together! Keep an eye out for information on next year's Symposium, tentatively scheduled for June 28th, 2024
Many of us have had the lived experience that good supervisors are constantly learning from and leaning on the support of other supervisors, and yet there is a lack of opportunities to discuss supervision outside our own centers. The Texas Supervision Symposium aims to meet that need by providing a space for education, networking, and support related to the supervision of trainees within a university counseling center context.
We recognize that time is at a premium and supervisors often have many other roles the counseling center. Because of the scarcity of time and resources, the event will emphasize accessibility in location, scheduling, and registration fees.
Relationships are crucial to our profession and to the task of supervision, so we have included several intentional times for connecting with others during the Symposium. There is extended coffee and snacks time before the program starts, lunch during the day, and opportunities to continue the conversation after our workshops.
The symposium is open to anyone involved in supervision or formation of trainees at a university or college counseling center in Texas. This includes all licensed mental health professionals, as well as doctoral interns or other trainees who supervise.
