Cheryl Wooten, Psy.D.
Coordinator of Trauma Recovery Senior Psychologist

Degrees/Training:
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D), Wheaton College
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Areas of Interest:
I enjoy working with Baylor students who come to the Counseling Center and helping them on their journey to healing. I also have a special interest in helping students who are recovering from traumatic experiences, whether this is a sexual assault, the loss of a home, a car accident, the death of a friend or family member, or any other life-threatening experience. I also like working with students struggling with anxiety as sometimes I think that can feel "life-threatening" as well.
Professional Affiliation:
International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS).
Hometown:
North Carolina, but Waco is home now.
Strengths:
Positivity, Responsibility, Input, Learner, and Belief.
Advice to BU Students:
Asking for help is a sign of strength, not of weakness, and there is a caring Christian community here that wants to help you whenever you face difficult circumstances.
