What I do at the Counseling Center:
I’m a therapist, coordinate groups, and I serve on several committees.
How long I’ve been at Baylor: I’ve been here so long, I remember what Dutton looked like as they were making it into our second BUCC location on campus. That’s a long time! 😊
What I’m passionate about: I’m passionate about restoration, healing, and inviting others to the table of hope. Throughout my career I’ve worked with victims of violent crime, trained law enforcement, worked as an advocate, taught students, and counseled many. Looking back at every phase of my career, I’m struck by the privilege and honor of walking through painful seasons with people who are made in the image of God.
A little about me: Why I’m a therapist: I grew up in a small town in Western Texas and decided to become a therapist, rather than a lawyer, after a close relative attempted suicide twice in one year. The help and healing that professional family counseling afforded us was life changing. I wanted to give that same gift to others.
Favorite things: A good cup of coffee with friends, talking under the stary midnight sky while lightening bugs blink against the backdrop, and fishing with the kids on the banks of our favorite creek. I’ve traveled the world and my favorite place in the whole world is still Blue Hole in the Texas Hill Country.
Hobbies: Philanthropy, reading antique books and stories long forgotten, writing prose and the occasional poem, playing the piano, and learning about pretty much anything.
